Overnight stays Charlotte North Carolina

Heading south to Florida from Ohio, would like a nice overnight stay in Charlotte any suggestions? Read the KOA reviews in Charlotte and they are not good.

We travel to and stay around Mooresville/Lake Norman so I am familiar with these:

Lake Norman Motor Coach Resort. A little off 77 but is a very nice park with a great view.

Relatives stayed at the KOA I77 = not that great... convenient but I wouldn't stay there

Lake Norman State Park - super quiet, wooded and inexpensive.

We stayed at the Statesville KOA last summer on our way down to Disney. Nothing fancy, but the facilities were decent and the owner was very nice to deal with. It’s right off 77.

We've stayed at Carrowinds twice for a month each time while awaiting two different grand babies. Management was very accommodating and helpful, pricing was also very reasonable. Right off 77 so easy to travel to.
