I think it's more about DIY in general, and the positive assistance to DIY that the Internet (YouTube and other) has helped with.

I think I read that "total knowledge is now doubling every three years globally"...I believe the majority of that is due to the Internet.

Trying to find an article of how to pull apart my bluetooth weight scale without breaking the plastic housing....so far no articles or videos...so the Internet isn't perfect (yet).

Thanks for the thread. You inspired me to YouTube something I need to do but didn’t know how ( remove slats on a vertical blind ). Why didn’t I think of this ?

The way I handle internet information - I don't believe everything I read until I read it several times saying the same thing. Reading it once gives me something to ponder, reading it half a dozen times gives it 'some' credibility.

This is some sketchy electrical info posted here at iRV2, so it's not just a You of Tube issue, but on the whole the advice is better here, at least as it relates to RV electrical services.

My "day gig" (if you can call 18 hours a day) involves supplying electricity and other production services to large scale entertainment, community and corporate events; and dealing with generator trucks and UPSs the size of commercial refrigerators, with separate, larger battery banks (WWE, among others). I also did the electrical work when a buddy and me flipped houses in the winter (had a licensed electrician pull permits and stop by to check my work before the inspector visit).

I mention all that to preface my comment that *too much* of what is on You of Tube about residential and small commercial electrical work is terribly insufficient with the "why" and theory of how electrical systems work (and almost no actual electrical engineering explanations of those). There are things on youtube that will burn down your house, perhaps electrocute a member of your family, a guest, or pet.
