P-30 dashboard fan switch
My heater/air conditioning fan switch only works on high; nothing on the three intermediate speeds. I have the three volume GM factory service manual set, but can't find any reference to the fan switch or any resisters that might produce slower fan speeds. A long search of many fan switch specifications at the local auto parts store didn't find any replacement switches.
Has anyone had this issue, and found a solution? (maybe the resisters are integral with the fan motor assembly, but I haven't examined this yet).

My chassis is a P30 but my heater control is from a Chrysler minivan. The dash wasn't part of the chassis so the body builders used what they wanted.
The resistor pack is a good place to start, it should be visible from the outside heater housing. High speed bypasses the resistors, when it is the only speed that operates that's a good indication of your problem. It could be as simple as corrosion, check the connections.

Whoops...I thought all the early Chevy P30's used the Evans add-on units...it's what I have.

Yep, I have an Evans system. Thanks for the link. Both the fan switch and blower resister are available. Now I gotta find the resister location so I can test it.

It is usually mounted to the air plenum with the resistors recessed into the airstream .... generally near the fan squirrelcage.
