Paint issue
I recently noticed damage to my paint below the ATWood water heater.
Paint is silver full body paint. The last drippings from the tank damaged the paint. Tried to polish it out. No luck. Tried a soft brush and water. No luck .
Damage is about 1/2 inch wide, but to the bottom of the panel. I do not know what was in the "bottom of the tank", but it did not evaporate.
I was winterizing my Winnebago Sightseer last winter.
Any special tricks to fix?

Is it white ? Calcium !
Vinegar soak is the solution.

When you used polish, was it a heavy duty rubbing compound or a dainty car polish? If the paint is chemically stained, you need a serious polishing product. If it won't polish out, the next level is sand & re-paint.
Hard to imagine what could have been in the tank that would stain the paint that badly and still not be caustic to the plumbing or its human users.

John Monroe here. The color is white. Possibly calcium. Will try vinegar. When I polished, it was a dainty car polish.
Will take picture after i try vinegar.

Meguiars Ultimate polishing compound and an electric orbital polisher. You can get both at Harbor freight. At least at my local store.

Try some CLR, many people have a bottle laying around at home. Use it liberally.

John,
Have you pulled the pressure relief valve out of your water heater, filled it with a gallon of vinegar and topped it off with deionized water ?
Close the bypass valve first.
Let the solution sit for a day or two, and drain, then blast the inside of the tank with a garden hose wand.
You will be amazed at the amount of white (calcium) flakes you get out of the tank.
I do mine every spring as I de-winterize the coach.
