Pantograph Adapter Hose Barb

Just replaced my wiper arms. Installed wet arm washer hose is larger than barb size on pantograph adapter (example http://i1.sell.com/u/FJ/3F/23621870-l.jpg). Anyone know if those barbs come in different sizes or are even interchangeable?

If I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that your hose, is TOO LARGE for the hose barb on the wiper adapter, correct? Now, if it was me, and there was no other way out of this situation, I'd maybe install a tiny section of small hose on that barbed fitting, then install your hose OVER the smaller one. It's like stepping up in size, to allow your hose to stay put.

I'll agree with Scott but will expand on it just a bit.

From what I can recall (and I may be way off but somebody can correct me), there are two common size and two not-so-common size washer hoses used for windshield washer hoses. The common sizes used on truck and bus wet arms, I believe, are 3/32" and 7/64" (inside diameter).

Some nipples and adapters have the ability to connect both sizes. I'm going to guess that it will be easier to replace the hoses or sections hose rather than trying to find a barbed nipple to replace the one on your adapter. Not only are hoses easy to find --any auto parts store will usually stock several sizes-- but will probably be much less expensive to purchase.

You can use a multi-barbed adapter to connect hoses of different sizes should you choose to go that route. Something similar to the illustration below.
