Parking When Not Traveling

Hi,

I'm curious about where you park your coach when you aren't out traveling the highways and byways. We have a challenging driveway, to say the least!

Thanks!
Angie

Storage lots
Fenced storage lots
Fenced/covered storage lots
Locked garages

Depends what's available in the area, and how much you are willing to pay.

Many HOA's don't allow RV's to be stored at home.

I keep my motorhome in a locked secure storage yard.

Some local campgrounds allow RV storage, for a fee.

We parked ours in a gated storage facility and paid monthly for a 13.5' x 50' fully enclosed storage unit that had 15amp electric service. I choose this option for several reasons:
1) Didn't want to park it out in the extreme Houston weather elements (like sun & RAIN)
2) Subject it to other RVers and other tenants on the premises to run into it
3) Expose it thieves
4) I needed a cooler place to work on it often to prepare & upgrade for FTing
5) This storage area also provided me extra space for gear, tools and a work space

Just poured a slab on the side of the house. Easy to keep an eye on it and prep it for trips. Will be wiring in a 50-amp box as well. Can't decide whether to put in the traditional sewer line, or use a macerator and dump through a clean out I have access to.

We parked ours at a commercial storage lot but have since found a space inside the garage of a commercial trailer facility. There are several options here but most have a waiting list. Check craigslist in your area.

We park ours at our home, with water and 50 amp power available (as well as a sewer cleanout that suffices to dump black/gray water tanks). The driveway is a challenge to navigate out due to the steepness and turn needed, but doable.

In the driveway, behind the house. Town zoning doesn’t allow it, but it’s not very visible from the street. No complaints over the last 15 years. I love having it where I can work on it any time I want.

We are fortunate to have a large corner lot with our home. Side street entry and created a RV parking pad at the rear of the property.

You say your driveway is 'challenging', is it do-able?

We also have a challenging driveway. It is too steep and would cause tail dragging. Didn't work for a fiver and doesn't work for our coach. So we keep ours at a storage facility.

Storage rental companies have room. Took many calls but locked out.

Well, my dh thinks so. We are maybe a 1/4 mile down a gravel lane. Dh says we will have to back it down.
