Parks Canada opened for 2023 reservations this morning. I secured the spots that I wanted, but it was really busy. The phone lines were jammed and I was unable to get through. I logged onto the website roughly 20 minutes before reservations opened, and there were already almost 5,000 people in the queue ahead of me. A friend of mine tried a few minutes after I did and there were already almost 50,000 in the queue.

If you want Parks Canada reservations for 2023, today is the day!

Wife has been on hold for 30 min. now. Says she can't find anything in Banff on the days we want. Something like 25000 in front of her!!

We were fortunate to get into Banff on the days we wanted. We’re going to be in Tunnel Mountain Trailer court. It has spaces that are big enough for our rig and it has full hookups.

Dennis, I used to think if we ever meet up I would like you, but now you have the spot we wanted!!! Grrrrrrrrr

I entered the queue at 34,000. 1 hour later I had my reservation and was in the payment section. My CC was declined (my bank "looking out for me" by rejecting a suspicious charge) after calling my bank and getting Wells Fargo straightened out, I went back. Of course they were sold out.

Haha! We’re fortunate to have gotten it. I’d keep trying in case of cancellations.

It was amazing.

I logged in 2 minutes after opening time (didn't have the experience to know to get in the queue ahead of time) and by the time I got in, the dates I wanted for the PEI campgrounds were gone. Dates were available later in the week, so we grabbed them and then grabbed some earlier dates at the Bay of Fundy park.

We still have a couple of gap days, so we'll try and fill those in with Harvest Hosts or some private campgrounds.

And I thought it was tough to get into NPS campgrounds! Wow.

It's ridiculous here. I haven't even tried to get anything in a national park the last couple of years. I still work, so have particular times only that I can get off work. If I had a more flexible schedule it might be better.
