Passport America
If anyone knows of a nice campground associated with Passport America, please share. Pics are views out of our dinette window on the drivers side, and passengers side sofa window. Yes, we will go elsewhere . Any recommendations? We are in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area for birth of our grand daughter.

We usually check campgroundreviews.com before pulling in. One night I don't care too much, more than that I do care a bit more.

basic stops and smaller campgrounds, mostly, and will probably never be a 'resort' experience... but you can always go somewhere that is not a passport campground, if it really bothers you. Overnights are one thing, long stay another... been there and done that.
We used Passport almost exclusively the first several years, full timing and traveling A LOT - as we were concerned about the budget, and very seldom parked for a 'resort' experience. They give great pricing, even sometimes for long stays, but the participating parks can put whatever limits on it they wish. Number of days, 'required' number of days, time of the year, type of site, whether 30a or 50a service, no advanced reservations allowed, etc.
as for whether you neighbor has your same standards or not, it'll be all over the place, even sometimes in 'nicer' parks - that's one reason why the topic of the '10 year or younger' rule comes with certain RV parks... it's a simple way to help limit this type of experience, but yet it can still happen regardless. You'll survive. Or you can ask for a different site. They'll usually accommodate.

I just joined Passport America. Paid $44.00 for 1 year just to try it out. Saved $66.00 in 3 days the first time we used the membership. We stayed at Creekside RV Park in Pigeon Forge, TN. It was great!

I have stayed at two parks near Lake Charles, Cypress Bend a few miles east on I 10 at Iowa, and Sam Houston State Park a few miles north of Lake Charles. I would not hesitate to stay at either one again.
