I have a 20' Dometic Weather Pro awning on my coach. I would like to add a patio Awning Screen Shade that attaches to the awning tube to block the sun and turn off the wind sensor to the awning and stake the screen shade to the grown. We were in Galveston a while back and saw two Coaches with the same Dometic weather pro awning with this set up. Even on windy days they left it staked to the ground with no problem. Is anyone doing this and describe your setup. Thanks

We stake ours with 3 matching color bungee cords. This gives the awning/screen a little flexibility in a mild breeze. We never leave our awning out in windy conditions, while away or asleep at night.

I would do the same and not leave it out in windy conditions or when we are not there or at night. What screen shade do you use. I saw a Patty O'Shade like this one at CW. http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...de-coffee/6072

I couldn't open the link. I bought mine on the internet. Even with shipping it was much cheaper than CW. Sorry, but I don't recall the name of the company. Google awning screens or check out ebay. If I can find the reciept I'll PM you the name. And your quite welcome!

I have the Weather Pro also. How do you disable the wind sensor?

I have a shade made by www.rvsunshaded4u.com. Works great. They have been around for 14 plus years.

I read my manual and tried to follow the instructions but my control box in the storage bin did not look anything like the pictures in the Manual. So I crawled in and with a flash light found a little switch on the side that turns the wind sensor on or off.

I usually find a spot (Google Earth) where the rig will face either North or West, providing shade on the PS during the heat of the day without needing an awning. It takes away the worry and expense and setup time.

I know a few folks that bought lots and got stuck facing the sun a lot. They used ShadePro and it looked great.

We purchased 2 awning screen shades at camping world then took them to an upholstery company, had them sew a 3" Velcro (smooth part) to the bottom of the top shade and the loop part to the top of the bottom shade
(Make sure they sew the velcro correct so they attach properly) We have been in many campgrounds where using just the top shade was just not enough. We also use bungee cords to hold them down. We also found we can leave the top shade on the roller when we retract the awning. Have not had any problems doing so in over 5 years
