I typically use 2 different cards ... most of the locations I use reject a 2nd swipe of the same card. Both of the cards I use provide some incentive. I usually don't go below 1/2 tank so it's not an issue.

I have a PFY card but when fueling at other service stations I have my wife go in with her credit card or cash. She likes the walk in to stretch her legs and she communicates with me, back at the pump, using a portable 2-way radio. When I'm finished fueling I can give her the pump total so she can make sure the charge is correct.

I'm with Mikee, flying J is 50cent a gallon higher here. My tank is 200 gal. That a hundred dollar savings which wold allow me to buy nearly 33 more gallons which would propel me around 250 more miles down the road for just a little Trouble of pumping out a smaller hose and swiping a few times with a credit card. I'll take that deal! A hundred bucks isn't chump change to me!

Give them cash and get a receipt. Pump your fuel go back in and say you would rather pay by charge. get your cash back and swipe your card.

Dittos ecurb74. My local Pilot/FJ has the highest diesel prices in the High Desert and I'm a lifetime club member to get the discount. I think that's why they keep their prices up so high. Pilot $3.96/gal vis Valero @ $3.62/gal. Even with the .10 off still not a good deal. I have the DW take the card in and wait till I'm finished pumping that way there is no issues.

We use Pilot/Flying J Good Sam lifetime member credit card. Swipe it at the pump, four digitsecurity code, pump fuel, obtain receipt, leave. Never go inside, fast, convenient and I'm not standing in line behind someone that can't make up their mind between a Snickers or 5th Avenue candy bar. I like to pump and go, I know what is inside a truckstop and it's all the same.
