Sorry to hear about the damage done to your rig.

Here's some links to my previous posts on the subject. Grab some coffee or an adult beverage and a snack because I can be long winded on the subject, and the posts repeat many of the same points.

The most important step for controlling rodents inside the rig is seal up all the entry points. It's that hardest and most time consuming step but is the most effective.

Bars of Irish Spring soap in the basement sections.

In our house attic, I've stuffed coarse steel wool in al lthe openings I can find, to keep out the fruit rats. Problem is, they're way smaller than I and can find small holes I cannot see.

If all else fails, and your not going to like this one but I know it has worked in the past for some; Ex Lax. The rodents eat it and get sick. (diarrhea) They don't know whats making them sick but know something there is making them sick so the leave the area. This was in Popular Mechanics about 40 years ago and I knew someone who had a major infestation. He claims out of desperation he tried it and a week or so later the rats were gone.

So the choice would be rodent diarrhea in the coach or rodent droppings in the coach. I used to work at an airport where we'd come into work and find little presents on our desks from our nighttime friends. I think that would be my choice; much easier to clean.

Honestly, all of this talk about rodents climbing tires makes me wonder whether that idea of lifting all four tires off the ground with the leveling jacks is such a bad idea after all. Just slather grease all over the jacks.

On a related subject, I saw a picture where someone left the doghouse off overnight and came in the next day to find a pregnant raccoon sleeping in his coach. We had nine of them in our attic once. They ripped a soffit off and squeezed into the attic, all males, fortunately. If that ever happens to you, your homeowner's insurance probably will cover the damage after the deductible.
