Here is my tire. it was never in the sun, sat on wood for 15 years and one day it just up and died. IT DONE BLOWED IT'S TOP OFF.

Just for info... I think it is good to help my tires any way I can when in storage state. Whether it actually helps or not, well I don't know and just feel better about it. That said, here is an idea for you all. I was getting some parts from my local O'Riellys store and they were throwing out their mats they walk on behind the counter. They are extremely heavy rubber and thick. I ask if I could have them and they said sure, we are just chunking them. I used one to line my truck bed, the other I cut into very large mats for my RV on my gravel drive. The rest I use for a mat to lay down if I need to crawl around under my rig. cant bet FREE!!!

Me thinks that tire, (although hardly worn), was on "borrowed time" for 7-8 years.
