Portable Tire Inflator
I'd like to get a portable air compressor of sufficient power and CFM rate to top off my tires while they're cold w/o having to go to a truck stop. The tires are 235/80 R22 size and the little garage compressor I have just doesn't cut it.
Having the coach generator I can use either AC or DC units. Anything out htere relatively small (and affordable) that would do the trick?
Thanks!

I use a viair 400, it inflates anything. I have used it to inflate tires on a pusher too. It uses 12 volt power. I have had it for several years.

I use two Viar 450's in parallel to air up my Jeep tires. They are fast and would work well for larger tires.

I bought a Kobalt. Top psi is 120. Top's off my 19.5 tires quickly. $45 at Lowe's.

X2 on the ViAir. Love mine!. Tankless, so it doesn't take up space in the basement, 12VDC, so you can use it anywhere, perfect for topping off.

This one?

Whatever you choose, make sure there's a bit of a margin in the max psi rating just to be safe.
I've been carrying a pancake air compressor that does double duty at home with my pneumatic nailers but it weighs about 30 lbs and is overkill. This Kobalt has me thinking (4.5 stars, 12V DC/120V AC, 400 reviews).

Viair 400 user here also.
Have a 12 volt one in our rig which hooks up to the batteries. Also have have 2 "car" ones in each of our daily drivers.

You need to get a air compressor that has a reservoir, any air compressor without at least a 3 gallon size reservoir is not for big 22.5 tires. Those small air compressors might be good for bicycles. You can not build up enough pressure to fill those big tires up to 110 lbs. I have seen some nice air compressors with small reservoirs at Home Depot. Might want to check them out.

I can only speak for 19.5 tires and the Kobalt does a great job of TOPPING off my tires. Although my tires show a max psi of 110, both Goodyear and Winnebago call for 80 psi.
Probably would work great on bike tires also.

There are a zillion threads about portable air compressors on this forum. Each time I read one of these I wonder, why in the world do you need to carry another air compressor around? How many times do you think about, or do, adjust your tire pressures?
In over eight years with my old Dutchstar I can recall maybe twice that I had to adjust air pressure and both times that was at home before heading out.
I made up and carried this gizmo around for years, just in case but never had occasion to use it.
Buy good tires, have them installed by people that know what they're doing, check tire pressure regularly and you'll be OK. How many truckers that do millions of miles carry an air compressor?
Let the flames begin.......
P/S, if, I were to buy an air compressor for my RV it would be a Viair 450P with a 100% duty cycle. Hands down.....
