Position of the seat belts in the dinette (in a Dolphin 6375)

Hello all.

My Dolphin 6375 has now arrived in Germany. Unfortunately not as promised by the dealer with 4 seat belts in the back (not to mention the broken windscreen, which I now also have to fix. I hope not all dealers are such liars!!!) Just the two belts in front. driver and passenger. Now I bought the RV to be able to take my two children also with me. Can someone tell me where the original seat belts are attached? supposedly there should be two on the sofa and two at the dining table. But since it's a slideout, I don't know where to fasten the seat belts. If someone can send me tips or photos, I could install new seat belts. I don't think the model would matter. It's about belts in a slide out. Unfortunately, there is no other model in Germany that I could look at. Thank you for your help and greetings from Germany

I've not ever seen seat belts on a sofa in a slideout, but maybe there is a way. I had a Dolphin but mine was a 2002 #6356. There were no seatbelts in either dinette or sofa, but there was one in the chair immediately behind the passenger seat.

If I had to use the slide sofa, I'd be looking at carriage bolts up through the slide floor. Carriage bolts are recessed and should allow normal slide operation.

Be aware that seat belts in sideways facing seat positions are not considered desirable. In a crash, the occupant is thrown sideways and the risk of injury by the belt itself is thought to be high.

Thanks for the feedback. I figured it was because of the slide that there were no belts. I would like to have 4 pieces in the dinette. not on sofa. As with our rental RV on our vacation in the US. But there were no slides. I think I'll build something and let it look old :-) then nobody in Germany will notice and it will be accepted that way. Here it says in the papers how many seats a car (RV) has. Every seat has to have a belt. If belts are already available when i will register, they will also be accepted;-)

My 2005 6375 had the seat belts bolted on the the sofa which was original. When I replace the sofa with a POS Rec Pro I used a pc of unistrut bolted down thru the floor, just the way the couch was bolted, carriage bolts looking up. Unistrut hardware shown. Click image for larger version

There are two sets of seat belts in each of the sofas in the slideouts of my 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire. They are bolted thru the bottom of the slides.

Are they ideal in case of a severe accident? Probably not.

I would pull back the sofa/bed and the dinette and look for evidence of any large bolts. My Newmar has bolts under the passenger side sofa, which is on a slide.

For awhile American-made motorhomes were given a "sleeping capacity" on its weight placard, which was a way of indicating the max number of passengers expected at 154 lbs (70kg) each. Most manufacturers provided seat-belted riding positions equal to the sleeping capacity.

Thanks for your help guys. I will do as shown on tmw 188. With pan head screws from the outside and bottom of the slide and then the belts on there. The whole thing rubbed with a little dirt crumble old bread or under the carpet. then it looks like it has always been like this :-) the Germans are a bit difficult when it comes to officially retrofitting belts.
