In costs relative to silver, fuel is basically the same price as it was decades ago. The sad truth is, a dollar buys less and less these days.

Like it or not and though many will disagree the largest problem is politics. No matter one's party affiliation. IN 1973 Nixon took the US off the gold standard. OPEC was formed largely in response to this action. Oil is priced in dollars. We have been spending and creating larger and larger yearly deficits. The Fed has been printing money and devaluing the dollar. Lower value for dollar means more dollars to purchase the same barrel of Oil. It really is that simple like it or not. Then add the bias against drilling, no new refineries in near 40 years and all the rest.

The oil companies send the diesel that is refined here to China so the supply here will be less than the demand so they can raise prices. There are no more free markets. It is all fixed.
