This reminds me of what my Trial Techniques instructor said last May (full disclosure, just finished my JD and celebrated with the senior discount at the restaurant):
"Class...what do you call an attorney with an IQ of 69?"

Answer: "Your Honor!"

The judge that was our guest speaker was only slightly amused.

Congrats on becoming a lawyer. Unfortunately, bad judges (and there are many good ones) are a function mostly of elected judges in many states. The general public is even worse at picking judges than they are at picking politicians. The feds have it right when it comes to appointing judges, and it shows.
