So PLEASE do not read into my question. If you have an answer please answer.

The question was is it less restrictive and more uniformly legal and acceptable to carry a shotgun in the lower 48 with out worrying about jail????

Sorry thought my original post was understandable.

Thank you for reading my rant
Simply put.......YES.

As long as the barrel length is legal, the gun is legal everywhere.
Also a shotgun must have the entire stock, cannot be sawed off shorter.

I do not know of anyone arrested for carrying a gun in their motor home ! I guess if you go around waving it or telling everyone you have it then you might cause the law to check you out !!! and at that point it's only legal if that state says its legal ! I don't carry a firearm ! I have something much better ! My wife is meaner than a two headed rattle snake ! If you rub her wrong !!!!

With regard to shotguns if you avoid:
  • barrels less than 18" long
    folding stocks
    telescoping stocks
    thumb hole stocks
    2nd handle grip
    detachable magazine
    revolving cylinder (street sweeper type)
magazine with capacity of more than 5
I believe you are legal in all states so just go get a plain jane hunting shotgun

I think I was married to her twin sister. Didn’t matter how you rubbed her though.
