Pulling a Vehicle or carrying a Gold Wing

I was wondering how dirty does it get behind the MH? I thinking I might want to carry my Gold Wing on one of those hydraulic lifts. Do I cover it or will it stay sort of clean without a cover?

thanks for input

Clint

The flat back of the motor home makes a big vacuum. It gets dirty back there.

Hi Clint, I carried my motorcycle on the back if my moho. I suppose it depends on several things how much of a "clean freak" one is and the weather. In general I always covered mine much easier to uncover and ride than remove all the road oils and grime. You might look into your coach suspension a bit the extended weight on the back will raise the front of you coach. It could make for light steering or front tire wear problems etc. Hopefully it all works out for ya. [Mod Edit]

I've carried a black dresser on the back both covered and open. Even with a cover, some dirt got in, but not as bad as open. Care has to be taken to prevent any cover from moving around as it can damage the paint. I wrapped the bike in a cotton sheet and a fitted cover over it. The sheet was a buffer for the cover. I towed a minivan at the same time. In both cases after 1500 miles with some of it on wet salted roads I had to wash it before use.

I have not noticed any dirt problems carrying my bike. Looks fine when I get to destination. The biggest factor is probably the roads you travel on.

They (Hydralift) do make a cover (they call it a garage) for the bike carrier which may work. I've heard the soft covers do more harm than good (I guess the flapping or places where cover touches bike does harm).

I just haul mine uncovered.

Thanks for the input, I don't worry about dust, mostly worry about the wet grim and salt.
I like the idea about covering with a cotton sheet first.

Why not an enclosed trailer?
