No slides ever need to be removed. You can cut the carpet far enough under that to install your tile

Watch it Ernie, you can get in trouble talking about the moderators. Don't ask how I know!

Compute the amount of weight the tile will add and see if you can afford to lose that much carrying capacity.

vinyl tile is not a weight issue- ceramic weighs 5 pounds or more depending on density per square foot

We are doing great Ernie. Your floor is holding up and looking wonderful. Absolutely the best upgrade we have done to this old girl. Glad to see you are starting to slow down a little. Time to smell some roses.

I repeat, weight is not an issue . As it is (believe it or not) I currently run with all weights BELOW the minimum rated load on all tires . Lucky I guess. Much, much better than being above the max 😀. Wife wants tile. If she is happy ... well you all know how that phrase ends ...
Out of curiosity, why the argument?? If I am just asking how to get tile in, why do some seem so intent on arguing against ??? (Flame suit on I guess...)

I agree there should be no talk about why you should not want tile.
I guess people always want to post reasons why you should change your mind. It looks like you are receiving posts from a very well respected expert that can help guide you with moving forward with this project. I hope everything works out for you

I believe that the added weight in the bedroom would be like having a guest come with you. After you remove your carpet, make sure there are no soft spots on the floor at the edges of the slide. Water tends to pool there.

I just completed 4 different motorhomes...on our alpine we went with carpet in the bed room, and one piece Armstrong floor on the rest, we did carpet in the bedroom because of the diesel rear motor...could have done the same floor as you always end up with throw rugs with either...on my sons 18' tioga, we did carpet on the whole thing..he wanted all carpet as he didn't want throw rugs all over.thats what he got...and as well.. it could have been hard floor...my other sons 29' flair... we did the allure plank floor..it has the raised driver area that we carpeted...he wanted all hard floors and that's what he got..says it will be easier to keep clean with the party animals he hangs with...
on my newest motorhome, the dynamax, dynasport... I went with the allure on the coach part and doing new carpet on the van part..
so there you have it...4 motorhomes all in the same family... floors all done different..
if you want to change it... do it how you like
