question about awnings

Why do they install awnings so high on the coaches

I think they are limited by the frames, windows and doors where they can go.

To be above the slideouts. The choice is to mount an awning on the slide so that it moves with it, or above it so it can be longer.

Awning should be mounted high enough to clear the entry door.

All the reasons above, plus models like ours use the awnings as a roof facade to hide the roof equipment, like AC units. Making it more of a custom look.
