Question for FT/PT of Bunkhouse floor plan without kids

We are searching for an RV and have been for quite sometime but havenít found the floor plan we both agree on. Thought crossed my mind of a bunkhouse floor plan but doing away with the master bedroom and using that area for my DW and my office/hobby area and using the bunkhouse for the sleeping area.

First off, Iím 99% sure weíd replace the existing mattresses with something more fitting than a 2Ē pad but what size mattresses/pad is tucked into that area? Thatís not a single in there is it? It seems smaller than a twin based in the photos.

Iíd appreciate feedback from people whoíve done this especially but other thoughts and opinions are welcomed.

I have not owned a Bunkhouse FP but sleeping is important to us and we want to be as comfortable as possible. The bunk beds are generally for the grand kids and are probably smaller than average. Unless you get a FP with a comfortable bed from the LR couch I don't see you having a good place to sleep. I never understood why people would sacrifice that much space for the GK's when they are only there for a short time which is too long anyway

When we were shopping for our new MH, wife and I joked about getting a bunkhouse and using the space for our two cats.. cat trees, litter box, etc.

Same here. Hahah. Then the idea evolved to us taking the smaller space and the cats taking the larger space.

We got the bunkhouse, primarily with the grandkids in mind. When traveling on our own, we use it for storage. Our plan for the future (once the grandkids are teens and we become uncool) is to do the opposite of what youíre thinkingóRip out the beds and make the bunkhouse into an office. Itís a great size for a desk.
