R&R duals with 1 piece valve stem

When you R&R tires and the inside dual has the long one piece steel valve stem that pokes thru the rubber stabilizer in the outside wheel are you supposed to remove the stabilizer first then re-install it after everything is put back together or do you leave it in and carefully line up the stem and poke it thru the hole in the stabilizer as you push the outside wheel and tire back onto the hub?

My opinion is wheels on first, then install the rubber grommet in the hole.
The wheels are just too large and heavy to try to line up the valve stem in the grommet.

Brian-

Here's a link to Duallyvalve information. It shows installation instructions, including stabilizers. I have no idea if the information/instructions apply to your tires, stems and wheels.

Thanks Guys, makes sense. Mark I had glanced at those instructions a while ago but didn't go far enough to see about the stabilizers. Guess I'll get out the heat gun and go to work, those things are pretty hard to work with especially when cold.
