Rain gutter pulling away

Hi, I have a 05 Monaco Diplomat and I just noticed that at the location just above the drivers side window that the gutter has pulled away from the side wall. The gap is approx. 18" long and the roof has pulled away from the side wall and there is a gap approx. a 1/2". How do I get the roof reattached to the side wall? Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd post this on the Monaco section under Owner's forum. I have heard of several Diplomats that this had happened to and one where it went the length of the coach.
Good Luck

Had the exact same problem on my 2004 Monaco La Palma last year. Had been in Salinas a month before and didn't notice the problem for a month.
I called my insurance company, CSAA, and the lady asked what date I was in Salinas. She looked it up and said the was a "severe weather event" that date in Salinas and that they would cover the damage.

Apparently the wind came up during the day and pulled the rail loose. There were about 6 thick bolts holding it in place and I was surprised it could even pull out.

Local RV repair shop fixed it for $608.

Common problem with Monaco built coaches. The caulking fails along the upper belt line and water corrodes the attachment. Can cause wall to delaminate. Inspect caulking at least annually and replace with Geocell Proflex RV sealant. OP was luck to have insurance cover the cost of repair.

Rain gutter pulling away

Thanks for the help. I will get up there and reattach the gutter with the sealer/caulk that you suggested.

Passenger side came loose on mine (2000 Beaver) and caused a water leak over the door. I removed the rain gutter and found bad sealing between roof and wall and front cap. I cleaned it all and added more rivets in between the factory ones and resealed it all. Had to replace a few rusted and broken screws that hold the rail to the panels and it fixed the leak.
