Rattling Shade Solution

My 2007 Newmar Kountry Star is fairly quiet when driving, but like most motorhomes has a few annoying rattles.

One of mine was the day/night shades which rattle just enough to be annoying. The shades over my couch and on the slide behind the drivers seat are the ones I hear. I had tried various sized stick on pad to stop the noise, but none worked totally.

I have now found a simple cure, courtesy of Amazon. If you receive packages from them or other online merchants, you have likely had items packed with air pillows (not bubble wrap). Those little plastic bags full of air. Most people throw these out, but I save them to reuse.

In an aha moment, I brought a few different sizes with me on our current trip and gently pushed one up on each offending shade (nothing permanent). As these lose air they tend to be squishy and do no harm. The shades have a big area to rattle in, a roughly 3 inch size fit right in and all movement stopped.

Just thought I would share this tip with my fellow RVers!

I use a pool noodle, cut 3-4" off, then cut down center to thickness needed, slide in center of window between shade when traveling
