Reading Michelin tire pressure chart

I am trying to understand the Michelin tire pressure chart attached. My question is the chart says for a single axel at 115 psi 6,290 and at 120psi 6,510. So does this mean anything over 6,290 should be at 120psi, or do you not use 120psi until you reach 6,510?

As usual your help is greatly appreciated.

The tire pressure is that needed to support the weight listed on the table. So if your axle weighs 6,295, the correct pressure is 120 psi. Underinflation causes heat which causes blowouts. Your tire will not 'blow up' if you use a higher pressure.

You are correct. If your actual weight exceeds 6,290 you move to the next recommended inflation on the table.

Pressure shown is the minimum cold pressure to support the weight shown, the same as the sidewall that shows the minimum cold pressure to support the maximum rated weight.

Just to clarify, the weight on the chart for a single tire is the weight on that tire (or in the case of duels, the two tires on one side). The axle weight is the weight of the entire axle ( front or rear ). So if the weight on just one side of the axle is 6,295 lbs then Cruzbill is correct. The axle weight would be about double that.

Thanks everyone. I think Jim28730 hit the nail on the head for what I was looking for. The chart I enclosed shows weight per tire based on either front axel or dual. Thanks again and safe travels to all.

Be very careful with the PSI you put into your tires. You need to follow the MFG's max psi that is listed on the placard near the drivers seat. Just because the tire can hold that much pressure does not mean that the chassis/axel can support it as built.
The MH mfg sets the pressure according to how they setup the chassis, which will be less than or equal to the max psi as stated on the side wall of the tire.
You should not be running more air just because you want to carry more weight, you need to stay within the weight limit of the front or rear axel weight as stated by the mfg.
If you are over that weight then you need to unload some of that junk you are carrying and or re-distribute it in the MH.
