Ready to pull trigger on 95 Monaco Crown Royale. But.Trans light.
Has the 400 horse M11 motor and I believe 4060 trans.true Jake brake.. In-motion satellite HD antenna Hydro hot ..2 Insta hots..updated 10,000 or 12,000 boxxed style generator ..4 wheel disc brakes...no fogged windows no signs of leaks ever in fiberglass roof. Everything's in pretty good shape including the paint. It was stored inside last 11yrs.Put small deposit with contingency on trans and water systems.. Came to an agreement on 19,800 will need 2 tires rest are 4yrs.and no checks what so ever even on 10yrs ones.
He pointed out all issues. The floor slide is iffy sometimes as well as elect awning. I crawled all under it ..nice and clean not rusty... I greased the chassis while under there.Tested hydrohot.genny.invertor.fridge.mini ice freezer. It was 30 F in Illinois so it's still winterized.
I drove it country highways to 70mph. Windy day....passed semi at 55mph opposite direction. I was impressed with 8 bag suspension . More stable than the 97 HR Navigator I tried.
It had check trans light When started ..he said it had it and worked perfect ..seemed to shift seamlessly only even noticed last couple down shifts coming to a stop.Gonna give a sniff and check fluid next. Should I panic on check trans light.

My biggest concern, would be with the $5K over NADA retail price and would expect to pay more like $10K for it. This is mainly due to this vintage, being without a slide room and will be tough to sell, so best you don't have a lot tied up in it. You'll put money into it, the way it is, but it's your money, so you might a least put a contingency in the deal for a dollar amount on the check light.
Although nice with being stored inside, for so long, begs the question of what happens when it goes to live outside in the rain storms. Just saying to be prepared for it.
Click here for some ideas on actual sales prices for slides and non slides, keeping in mind that it's a dealership, who always get more .... https://www.pplmotorhomes.com/diesel...rtBy=price+asc

I have been watching mid to late top of line rvs With side radiator. They just don't go 10k to 15k.
99ish Eagle ...Dream...Plain Dynasty....Mountain Air... Add one slide 30k to 35K.
It was still in my budget but I can a decent jeep Cherokee ...Tow bars.and 1200 gals of fuel.It will be mostly just 2 of us using at camping club and traveling 4 to12 day trips.

I wanted side radiator so I could easily fix minor things like belts alternator. Not as much gunk up. The one piece fibreglass roof should hold up for many years to come it not all slopped up with sealer on sealer. There is easy access most of components on this coach power slide out genny full access under bed.The 8 bag seems not too bad diy on bags ..shocks . I know resale will be harder as more slide and multi come down in price.

These are nice coaches and that's a great engine trans combination.
You need to check the Allison codes. Hold the Allison shift selector Up and Down arrows simultaneously and read the codes in the shift selector digital window.
Write down the codes.
Try clearing them and see if they come back.
This is a You Tube video explaining the Allison code check and clear procedure. This is an MD3060, but the 4060 is the similar.
For more detailed help on the Allison, we have some highly experienced Allison folks on this forum:

Best of luck!

Thanks, it's why i posted for your good peoples help.I must of missed this sub forum. If not completely neglected or plain bad luck. I would think 4060 should be pretty tough for the RV torque/hp and weight is just at the starting point of most used applications .

The trans was a gallon low out of around 48ish qts. total. He ran to local truck or Napa store we were both surprised that mobil syn. 295 fluid Was only like $35. there. There were stickers that it was changed to true transynd before his ownership. And he said he had changed it out again once. There were no leaks it may not have been filled completely.
