Rear Jack won't retract
2004 Monaco Diplomat. Passenger side rear Jack extended without pad and springs. I need to lift Jack post from 1" off the ground to up where the springs and Jack pad Are located so hopefully I can reattach it. Any ideas? I'm camping and we need to leave on Wednesday.

The springs are what provides the lift to pull the ram up once the hydraulic valve opens. Just use the Retract button on the control so that the hydraulics are ready to return, then use a long board as a lever to push the jack up manually. You will have to attach at least one spring to hold it up, though. Without that, it will slowly fall down again.

open the hydraulic solenoid and push the cylinder up. when its up, close the solenoid, you should then be able to reattach the foot and springs.

If you can get it high enough with the board to slip an automobile scissor jack underneath, you can then crank it back into position easily.
It will also hold it while you can get the springs attached.

There are at least 3 causes, weak/broken retract springs, faulty hydraulic hose(failed internally), faulty hydraulic solenoid.

My rears don't have visual springs for retracting like the fronts do.

Use a pry bar as a lever and push up on the jack while the switch is in retract. If that is the problem then open the solenoid. To make room for the pry bar to raise the jack just air up the coach. If is is aired up and the jack is touching the ground open solenoid with switch or manually and dump the air then air it back up. That will give you a few inches to work with. The jack will have to be fully retracted and you will have to use wedges (half a clothes pin) in the springs to reattach them.

When hydraulic ram is out, wipe it clean and spray it with silicon spray lube, this may fix the issues. This has worked for me.
