Glass reflections

Hi.
When traveling, does anyone else get confused by the reflections on the inside glass? I find it distracting and dangerous the way the driver’s and passenger’s windows reflect the objects on the opposite side of the MH.

At night, they seem worse to me. Am I the only one who’s noticed this?

I've never noticed any reflections while driving. I'm sure you're not doing this but driving with interior lighting on, ceiling lights for instance, would cause it.

Do you have aftermarket tint applied to the glass,, or do they happen to be double pane windows? Guessing it's possible that one of those could cause issues.

I noticed it in our Bounder when night driving. There are several threads on this subject floating around. A site Google search will reveal solutions.

I have that as well in our 2014 Tiffin Allegro Bus. It seems to be most common when I'm trying to use the side mirrors. I end up having to use the cameras instead.

Well,
Double pane glass can at times do this. I don't get it very bad, if at all during regular driving in daylight hours and maybe even night and early morning (no sun). Where I get it pretty bad is when I'm backing the big girl into its cave in the daytime. I have lights on in the RV garage but it doesn't help. If I'm backing it in at night, no problem, I get no reflection going from a dark outside to a well lit inside. But daytime backing from light outside to a darker inside, I gotta stick my head out the window for that.

I installed a glare shield on the driver's side. I made an aluminum bracket that attaches to the window frame, painted it flat black, mounted three squares of Velcro on it, and then have a piece of black Corroplast with matching Velcro pieces, about a foot square. It worked great.

I got the idea from here on iRV2!

I didn't need one on the passenger side because that mirror was out front of the coach.

Here's a picture from someone else's installation. His shield is smaller than the one I made.

I just had 5 windows de-fogged at Hudson, FL by one of the biggest names in the business. They let me know that I would need new glass in the driver’s side window, because what was there was laminated glass, and not the usual dual pane.

I was not aware I had anything different, as it’s one big window with a top part that doesn’t move, and this was the part that was really fogged bad. The bottom section has a sliding section, and part that doesn’t move.

Driving home after the window repairs, I noticed the reflections really prominently…..never noticed them before.

When they asked me if I wanted the new glass, I asked them was there any reason in their opinion why it would have been changed by the previous owners? And they shrugged their shoulders, and said they couldn’t think of a reason why.

Now, I’m thinking I made a mistake changing that one section of window back to factory dual pane configuration.

I run with a glare shield all the time so I can see the mirror. Just start with a piece of cardboard and trim it so it fits the dash contour nicely, then trim the height down to just keep the top of the mirror clear, then trim the depth just to keep the mirror clear.
After you have your shape, select what you want to make the finished product out of and how to mount it. I used fluted plastic and painted everything black.
