Thanks for backing me up Fellows. I grew up in my Dad's auto repair garage back in the 50's & 60's so I thought I understood a little bit about gears and gearing but in my Senior Years guessed maybe I was losing it some.

I did some differential gearing changes on my '61 Pontiac Bonneville and I knew at that time that was the only way to change engine speed.

Maybe someone was just pulling our leg.
