Remodeling - Specifically Carpet -Greater PHX Area
Well the time has come. Have been talking about replacing the original cat crap brown shag carpet in our coach for several years now. it's getting old, been soaked a few times, and finally had to cut it in front of the residential fridge to get it out and replace the control board. So looks like that's the forcing function for new carpet. Carpet is in bedroom with steps on either side of the bed and the long flap along the full wall slide covering the slideout seam. If it was just flat and one area, I might attempt it. Not gonna deal with steps and the slideout myself.
We had one estimate of near $5K when the coach was in for crash damage repairs 2 years ago but opted not to at that time.
We're in the Prescott area but PHX is close. Any recommendations for coach remodeling/RV carpet replacement shops in the greater PHX (heck even Tucson would work) area?
Thanks all in advance

We had carpet added (on a new no carpet motorhome). Did it through the dealer, but they just used a regular, residential carpet store locally (not AZ). They matched the carpet on the slides perfectly, and the install was great. Looks like you have gotten some good recommendations, but if you just want to stay in Prescott, or if those don't work out, you might consider just interviewing some carpet places.

Thx folks, will check with the recommendations after the holidays, and eventually follow up with what was done (or not).

Well Todd,
I don't know if the person(s) involved with our re-carpet job are still available or not but, we're in Lake Havasu, about 3-4 hours from the Prescott area. A while ago, as in about 2+ years or so, we had some friends get new carpet in their motorhome and we were called to take a look at it. We got there, looked at it for about 30 seconds and decided right there to have the same done to ours.
We drove from their house to the show room and, the CEO had new carpet picked out in about 30 minutes from the stock of supplies they had. The next day, the owner came out and ripped out all the old "Ivory cat crap" that was original. I had gutted the coach, before they got there. The installer was at that time, about 72 years old!!!!!!!! A company showed up the next day with the padding and carpet.
The installer showed up the day after that and I thought I was gonna have to call a rest home for him. But, that man, all 72 years of him, was like a tractor. Once he got going, DON'T GET IN HIS WAY!!! Anyway, after it was all said and done, we now have new carpet in every inch that the old stuff was, new valances, new window coverings and new upholstery.
The carpet job, labor materials and all, was right at $2,200, TOTAL! We've been totally pleased with the work. Nothing has unraveled, no issues, no stepping on nails, nothing. Again, I don't know if that company is still around or not 'cause, I can't find any phone numbers. And, the "show room" that we went to, to pick out the carpet, is also gone. But, if you're interested, I'll see what I can find.
Scott
