The cables are also easy to wire wrong, there are two types. Standard & Crossover.


I don't know which way your should be, but it must be right.

Yeah what. rgvtexan says look at cable that works to verify recheck the one your repairing.

If this was a 8 wire internet connection that might be a problem. However this is a 4 conductor twisted pair telephone type connector, as stated in the original post (and mine) and confirmed by actually looking at Magnums ads.(https://www.amazon.com/Magnum-Energy...G9P23N9EX9KP32)

So this is a non issue in this case. You're only going to use 4 wires and they are connected to the plastic end "straight thru".
