Hi. I have a 2003 Georgie Boy 35' Landau and the up/down remote control doesn't work on the driver side rear-view mirror. In and out works fine but the mirror manually moves up and down as if there is nothing attached to it (very loose). Does anyone have an idea re. what might be wrong with it? Thanks in advance for your help.

My guess would be that the motor has become detached from the drive mechanism.

The drive system and the supports are plastic and are easily broken. If you are the only driver, You can glue a piece of hard rubber to the bottom of the glass, between the glass and the outer cover and save the two hundred dollars for a new mirror. I did this for several of my customers.

I was thinking along the same lines. What sort of glue did you use?

The mirror may have been pushed to the max one way or the other and then manually adjusted causing the plastic gear to break. If you can feel no resistance when manually moving the mirror, its toast. Then do what the above guys suggest.

Go to the hardware store and ask for a exterior glue that works on plastic and rubber. Silicone will work but there are other, better glues. clean the surface. No glue will stick to a dirty or dusty or oily surface.
