Replace Costar Fire/CO2 Ceiling Alarm

My Costar 12V wired Fire/CO2 detector w/9V battery backup died and the company is gone. Questions is there a replacement for this unit, or do I cut and cap the three wires on it and get a battery-operated one from Lowes?

Yes, Lowes, or anywhere else. Initially I replaced my Costar with a First Alert one and it was junk after about a year. Then I got a plug in type with battery backup (9v) and it's been good for a few years now.

Looks like nobody makes a 12 V fire/CO2 detector anymore. So it looks like you’re better off getting a battery powered one from Lowe’s.
