Replace older A&E Weatherpro power awning controller

The Weatherpro power awning controller in our 2004 Newmar MADP is getting worn out and I need to replace it. This unit is no longer available but there is a new version that looks like it should work. Has any one upgraded their old Weatherpro awning controller with the new version? I thought about just rigging up a polarity reversing switch but would like to retain the existing switches, remote control and wind detector. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks? If you open the Weatherproof box, can you just replace the switch inside and leave the rest of it intact?

"Worn out"???
May I ask, just exactly what do you mean by worn out in that box? There is a PC board in there with multiple mini-relays and some "resettable" fuses. (my son calls them m&ms. I replaced all the mini relays and the m&m resettable fuses and both my door and main awnings work fine now. It's really not all that hard to do. I think the parts were about $10 total if I'm not mistaken.

By worn out, I mean that the controller only opens or closes the awning intermittently and when it doesn't work, I just hear a relay clicking. Turning the wind detector on/off does not help. In the past, if I waited a little bit it might start working again, but now it will not open. I will look into those relays inside, but I found someone on ebay who has several NOS exact replacement controllers and purchased one that should be here mid-week. Thanks!
