Replace sat dish with starlink?
Had a thought about how I could permanently mount starlink on my coach. Was looking at the sat dish bubble as an option. I no longer have dish tv so the bubble just houses a useless sat antenna, so would a starlink mini fit in the dish bubble? would the bubble prevent or limit it's abilities?
Already wired for power and cables, would be easy to thread starlink wiring through existing access and the bubble would protect the starlink antenna.
Just looking for opinions as to whether or not this is just crazy.

I think they have dimensions on their website. As far as the bubble blocking the signal, I'm not sure. Probably wouldn't. Any reason not to just remove the whole thing and permanently mount the starlink direct to the roof in its' place?

You'd have to get up there and measure it. Part of the issue is that it might fit once but then would it be able to turn and position inside the bubble? Also, I'd love to dump my Starlink so I could stop giving money to Elon.

Hmmm, tell us who you voted for without telling us who you voted for.
The sat dish turns within the bubble to acquire signal, not sure why starlink wouldn't.

If it's in the satellite bubble it would be protected from elements. Especially during travel.

Starlink is a phased array antenna. It uses electronics to shift where it is getting its signal from.

I don't think it would work - our Starlink doesn't like tree leaves. Starlink makes a flat-mounted roof panel; it's very pricey! But also provides in-motion Internet.

They all now provide in motion . You don’t meet the expensive one for that anymore.

The issue with permanent mounting is that if you park under shade you won’t be able to use the antenna. We put ours on a flagpole attached to the rear ladder, but we also have a tripod mount we have needed a few times. SolaRVector makes a roof mount that is pretty impressive though.

Same. I carry a 50-foot Starlink extension piece, just in case. It sucks when that happens - we only have YouTube TV and other streaming services.
I'm not sure I would leave my moving/articulating Dishy hanging on for dear life to the ladder just to see if the in-motion works.
