Replacing 12VDC circuit breakers and relays...
I'm in the process of adding multiple "options" to our used Journey--docking lamps is what I'm working on today. We are not new to RVing, but this is our first coach--we really love the change! That said, we desire to make this unit as comfortable and usable as possible--hence the "upgrades." I'm handy, but would be foolish to ignore any advice from folks who know the pitfalls before I fall into them! Thank you in advance!
I found the right wires in a bundle at the rear of coach, so tapping in to the correct circuitry should be no issue. A dash switch and cover are on order, and I've decided to go with "improvised" LED lamps vice stock halogen used on the Itasca Meridian (docking lamps not a Winny option this model/year). I took a look under the front hood to verify my suspicion; although wiring may be in place at the rear, relays and a breaker need to be installed. As for the switch wiring, that will be my next "search and discover " mission.
The relays are easy--two empty slots at top right marked for dock lamps. They are inexpensive and available locally. As for the circuit breaker, the mounting location is marked and empty. How difficult will it be to add the breaker given the whole panel will require removal? Also, what is the connectivity between the circuit breaker and the relays? Is it harness "plug & play" or am I overly optomisitic? I was told I could not integrate a Voyager color 4-camera system with side cameras and it was a piece of cake. Did I bite off more than I can chew (or swallow) this time? Many thanks for and guidance/suggestions/criticism you care to offer!
Dave
