Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

I would start by contacting the manufacturer's tech support group. Hopefully they can tell you where to get the new tank, and possibly some info on installing it.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I think you have hit one of those jobs that are very seldom done and even less seldom done as a DIY. You would do us a favor by posting pics and documenting what you did. If you take pics and post them asking for specific advice there is a good chance someone will have an answer. It would be a huge help if you told us what kind of RV you are working on as other folks with similar units would have more insight into what you are doing.

I helped my friend repair a black tank on his travel trailer. To do it we removed the tank. Before we took the tank loose we looked for connections inside the trailer. The toilet floor flange pushed through a rubber collar into the tank. So we took the floor flange up so we would not have to fight it when pushing the tank back up. The bathroom sink also drained into the black tank. The pipe for the drain was also the pipe for the roof vent and was under the bathroom sink. We cut that pipe in a convenient place so we could rejoin it with a rubber coupler. We separated the tank drain at the dump valve.

His had metal bracket every foot or so around the perimeter that held the tank up against the floor. Each bracket was about 3 inches long and had two screws in it. We also had to take off the tank gauge wires.

His tank was very accessible from the bottom so all we had to do was support while we removed the brackets and then lower it to the ground. It was not very heavy when it was empty.

Not knowing how yours is mounted none of this may help you.

We rinsed the tank out real good with Pine Sol before we started.
