Replacing patio awning fabric
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who has replaced their own awning fabric. How tough of a job is it?

I would be interested also.........I bought a used Chieftain and I think it may need a new fabric soon. Dave.....in Illinois.

I too need to replace not only fabric but entire awning. Lol. Bad Florida storm claimed ours.

I have scanned instr for my AE Imperial 8000 if they will help, PM your email and I'll send to you.
I did mine alone and on a windy day! A bit of planing and used a rope and pully to assist. Clamped the rope to the leading upper edge using visegrips and slowly fed and pulled until on.
Step ladder and I have a small folding scaffold that helps but saw horses would work too.

I replace mind a couple yrs ago, and it's not that difficult, but you need to be two people. When you undo the end cap where the latch is, clamp a pair of vise grip and count how many turn it will do until it has no stress, pull it out and pull the fabric out and replace, and when you put it back all together remember the count of turn, so you put the same pressure, and ake sure you line it up with the side arm. good luck

I just pulled home my first TT Sunday, cleaning roof to seal before an approaching
storm now, but the Awning seemed to disintegrate on the drive home, the vynil is peeling oand blowing off and is one of my firste jobs, along with the roof and the brakes/ wheel bearing service. Can you post a link to the youtube video please/
