Red face Replacing RV Flooring

I'm considering replacing the carpeting in the living area of our 06 Southwind with a laminate tile flooring. I only want to replace the flooring in the main walkway and the area that is exposed when the living room slide is out, I don't want to replace the carpeting on the slide out itself. Has anyone here done that and how difficult was it?

I watched a YouTube video where they suggested installing some type of rollers to the slide out to keep it from scratching the floor. It looks as if the only contact to the new flooring would be the carpeting that overhanging from the edge of slide out. I haven't been able to find any information on what type of additional rollers would be needed.

Any information or suggestions on the rollers would be greatly appreciated.

I just did exactly what you are describing this summer. Not hard to do. We went with floating vinyl plank flooring from Home Depot. Once carpet and staples are removed, be sure to fill any screw heads or imperfections with wood putty. Thin vinyl flooring will show these if you don’t. Our slide has Teflon skid plate that lift about 1/4” so no need for protection from scratches. Good luck!
