Ring video doorbell for RV
Hey everyone,
Has anyone experimented with a video doorbell for their RV.
I was thinking of using a battery powered video doorbell to keep an eye on my rig while I'm away.
Maybe strap/lock it to a table or post facing the door side of the rig. If anyone or anything sets off the motion sensor, I would get a notification on my phone letting me see who/what is around my rig.
What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea?

Another option is the canary video alarm system. It tracks motion and also gives you temperature inside the RV. I like being able to look in on our dog when we are away. By the way, their free service gives you all this so no need to pay their monthly fee.

Note for both options, Ring and Canary, you need a WiFi connection in your RV.

Why use the Ring doorbell ? Why not one of their other cameras that include a motion activated spotlight and can activate from your phone or computer ?

I use a Wyze cam with my Mobley. Works great!

Likewise, the XT2. I'd much rather have a Nest because the app and everything else is just so much more refined. But Blink works and is a lot cheaper.
I did install a Nest Protect combined smoke and carbon monoxide detector. It reports to the app as well so we can get alerts if we're away.

Hey guys, I'm talking about the outside of my rig. I believe the doorbell can be used outdoors.

The Blink units are powered by a lithium battery. Pulling a live video stream a lot can lessen the battery life, of course. It has a microphone, activity zones, etc.
The new XT2 is supposed to be "weatherproof": https://www.cnet.com/news/amazons-bl...d-a-rainstorm/ and there are a lot of accessory cases for it.
