So, it’s safe to assume that the AC will not try to run with inadequate power available, only tries to start once the generator is started and on speed?

Now that I have a dash start switch I may need to use this technique.

Yup also use it all the time. Relief of dash a/c I get better gas mileage.

I run it all the time in the summer. It’s nice at the end of the trip that the bedroom is cool. Heat coming from the engine compartment to make the bedroom very uncomfortable. Using the rooftop air conditioners makes everything comfortable.

I do it a lot, but always run the genny 10-15 minutes before putting a big load on it, and take the load off for 5 minutes before shutting it off.
Doing it this way will keep your genny and wallet happy!

I think mine will only run one at a time either front or back not both. Mine is a 30 amp hookup, so they said it draws about 20 amp on startup. I have a switch under the bed to flip between them.
