Roof cleaning

I have a 2008 Monaco Dynasty that is in need of a roof cleaning. It has been sitting under oak trees for a few weeks, so has gotten really dirty. Suggestions on cleaning materials?

If waxed , not the roof, don't use dish washing soap....if not waxed, Dawn and a hand brush........ a little labor, but worth the results......car wash soap if waxed

Simple Green is one of the best roof cleaners I've found. Works good and available just about everywhere.

I'm fairly sure that it is not waxed as it appears to be a rubber substance. I'm also curious if simple green will damage the paint on the sides?

I try to only use the soap I use on my painted sides for normal roof cleaning. When I had to use something stronger to get the roof looking good. I did so with couple buckets, small area and rinsing with second bucket and rags as I went to avoid having it run down on the sides.

You might try a small area with something mild like used on sides and see how difficult it will be to clean before breaking out the harsher chemicals.

Simple Green won't harm the paint, I use it on the paint to get stubborn black streaks off, have for years.

Thanks everyone for replying. Not sure what I will do, but probably won't do anything until it cools off. 100 degrees ambient is a tad hot for a guy that gets dizzy when overheated.

I use a products by Aero Cosmetics and am very happy with them.

Following is an article in Motorhome Magazine on their products.

Dry Cleaning

What I really like is that I don't have to do it all at one time nor pre wash MH. When I get tired, or it gets hot, I stop. When at a campground, and have some time, I do some.

My roof is gelcoated fiberglass. I had to park mine under trees for years until I moved the coach to a covered storage facility.

I used Turtle Wax Zip Wash n Wax with a cup of bleach added to the bucket (3 gallons or so of liquid. It got the crud off well. Used long handle truck wash brush.

I did not worry about the solution running down the sides since I always washed the coach after doing the roof.
