Roof sealants

Hello everyone,
I would like to reseal, where the front cap meets the roof and Touch up areas around the satellite dish. We have a 2015 Winnebago Tour QD. Call out sheet list 185987-03-CHT for the cap and 131264-03-CHT for satellite. Would like to by -pass Winnebago and purchase online maybe Amazon.I see Dicor lap self leveling sealant for fiberglass. Is this compatible with Winnebagos numbers and what have most of you used . Thanks Steve.

Don't know how you could go wrong with GE Silicone II.
I've used it for years with great results. Make sure it is
Silicone II.

Many people recommend and use the Dicor self leveling sealant for horizontal areas on the roof... they also have a non-leveling sealant if you need that option..

From the Dicor web site, in the self-leveling sealant description:

"Self-Leveling Lap Sealants

Dicor’s HAPS Free Self-Leveling Lap Sealant creates a secure, secondary seal along the roof’s edges, air vents, vent pipes and screw heads. Compatible with EPDM, TPO and PVC membranes, it adheres firmly to aluminum, mortar, wood, vinyl, galvanized metal, fiberglass and concrete. Ideally suited for aftermarket use."

I used to use Dicor sealant. Now I use Eternabond Tape which results in a job that doesn't need to be revisited for years.

Eternabond Tape has been discussed at length on this forum.

All the best.

I also re-sealed with Eternabond tape. Just scrape off any loose stuff and than go right over the existing caulk line with a 1 to 2 inch overlap. Looks just as good today as the day I applied it two years ago. Great stuff.

I eliminated every glob, puddle and dab of Dicor off my roof years ago. The stuff is not worth my time and it will fail without warning. Develop a roof leak while the rig is in storage or put to sleep for the winter and the water damage will quickly destroy the rig.

My front/rear cap seams, skylights and air vents are sealed with Eternabond Tape and Microsealant while the tank vents, ladder mounts and TV antenna are sealed with EternaCaulk and Microsealant. The oldest tape is on the front cap seam and is 9 years old and looks just as good today as it did back in June of 2011. The caulk is only four years with no signs of deterioration. Rig is parked in the driveway out in the mid Atlantic weather of south eastern Virginia 24/7/365.
