Roof top Spot light

We have a 1984 Class A 33 ft Cross country by Sportscoach. There is a spot light on the roof above the driver with a stationary remote attached to the dash. It currently is not working and the task of chasing down the wires looks daunting. Im not afraid to tackle the job but was wondering if anyone has any experience with these and if so what problems have been seen?

Welcome to iRV2.

I have a roof spot light and have never used it; ( 7 years) if you make a habit of pulling into an RV park an hour after sunset it may be of some use; to spot overhead branches, but useless at ground level; , so before you knock yourself out trying to fix it; consider the times it would be of any use.
