Has anybody ever attempted or would it even be possible to convert my rooftop unit to the basement?
I need more real estate on the roof for my solar panels.

That conversion would be extremely expensive and since the ductwork runs up the rear cap and into the ceiling/roof one would need to open up walls and ceiling panels and all that would be if you could empty a rear ay to install it in. There is also the fact that basement air isn't supported very well any longer. You would be better off trading your coach for one with basement air that was built that way.

You’d be better off building a low profile structure to bridge the panels over the a/c shroud, like a nicely welded tube frame. You’ll get a little taller, but what you’re after in this question would be intense and provide marginal benefit, assuming the system even worked as efficiently as what you already have. My worthless opinion.

that's kinda what I was thinking is that it would be quite a task and my ACs probably wouldn't be as efficient.
It was a crazy thought I had while trying to figure out how to install the solar panels I picked up at auction. They're big but I couldn't pass up the deal on these 290w panels.
