My front pass tire 235/80R 22.5/14 XRV has some "weather checking". This tire is not exposed to the sun and the other side is but kept covered. What's odd is the driver side has no cracks at all. Both tires carry the same DOT markings. mfg'd 2810 date Yes, they are Michelins, but I've never had one check/crack before. My MH just passed State Inspection, but they did advise on the cracks. They're not deep

I would start to think very seriously about replacement. Life is too short to take chances.

Hi Joe, it would not bother me to much if these were on the drives, but steer tires? How are the drive tires? can you switch them around? if not , I would replace them.....Always want to have good steer tires at the least.....

Every Michelin tire I have ever had did the same thing. I will not buy another Michelin tire. I just replaced them with Continentals, great tire and a lot cheaper

This topic is especially interesting to me.

Just yesterday I had all 6 Michelin XZE tires, with similar cracks, replaced by Michelin Customer Care at a discounted price.....(1-888-622-2306)
BTW the warranty/replacement process, (from complaint to replacement), took over 8 weeks, trapping me in this COLD Wisconsin winter weather...(below zero last night).
Needless to say, I am NOT a happy camper.

BTW, the "DOT date" on the cracked tires was 1611, (the last week of April 2011).
They were mounted on, (and ONLY used since), Aug 30, 2011.

So much for the "best tires in the world".

Always been very pleased with Michelin tires.

What is "acceptable to Michelin" and what is "acceptable to the average coach owner" are entirely two different things....no one should have to worry about their $2,500 - $3,500 coach tires.

BTW, Costco or Sam's Club can often save you hundreds of $$ compared the so called FMCA Advantage? tire program price.
Don't be fooled by the Michelin HYPE or by the FMCA HYPE.

I had a rear blow-out once. It made a mess of the underside of the wheel well, smashed the water heater and was over $2500.00 in damage. Personally, I would not drive any further than the nearest tire shop on that tire. There is no way that anyone can tell definitively if that tire is safe by looking at it and comparing to a picture. I always err on the side of caution with tires. Way too important to mess around or skimp.

Mel S, The dealer said that they will sell me another tire and that Michelin wants them to send the cracked tire so they can look it over. He said Michelin will cover it under the 6 year warranty and prorate based on tread depth and age. Is this what they did for you?? Can't believe this #$%^&%$ tire has gone from 399. to 508.

On the bright side if I do replace the one tire at least I won't have to replace both front tires at the same time.

I don't know of any Costco or Sam's club that carry 22.5 commercial tires. Wish they did!
