RV dealer help?

Not sure where to post this so hoping someone could point me in the right direction. We’re shopping for a class A. Leaning towards the Holiday Rambler 36sbt. Where do I find info on good dealers and bad dealers? I know everything I need to know about Camping World Benefits of buying from large dealers versus small, family owned? Thank you!

Read my blog and posts about our first and subsequent purchase. The dealership I used in TX is AMAZING and I will never consider purchasing anything from anywhere else. PM me if you would like their contact info but i recommend you read my blog over the 3 months of problems and how they took care of us.

We’re in Seattle but see an RV in Michigan that we’re interested in. Don’t know anything about the dealer though. We plan to travel a lot and will be selling our house so no home base.

Since you'll be traveling a lot a good local dealer doesn't factor in. Just do your research and look for the best deal, then get service as needed on the road. Not sure if your buying new or used, but if new, non selling dealers can be unfriendly to warranty needs.

Great info! We’re looking to buy used. Current one we have our eye on is 2014. Do we, and where do we, buy a warranty/service plan?

You want a Service Contract. Do a search on this forum. Hundreds of comments. Read every word...twice, especially the last paragraph on the last page....telling you who is the underlying bank or insurance company.... actually doing the insuring. Check them out at www.weissratings.com

I would prefer to buy from a private seller instead of a dealer.

I am not a fan of extended warranties on RV's. Those companies leave themselves too many loopholes to get out of paying your claims! I think that in most cases you would be better off putting that same amount of money into a special bank account to be used only for repairs. JMHO

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
