RV Ext Warranty & Tiffin Window Shade Replacement

Help! I just bought a 2011 Tiffin 43QRP and I need to buy an extended warranty. I've heard to stay away from Good Sam by the RV dealer. Any suggestions on others?

Also, the roller shade on our RV fell off the window, the wires wrapped around the mechanism which started smoking so my husband cut the 12 v power source to keep the RV from starting on fire. Does anyone know how much this will cost me to replace it? It won't be covered under the Ext warranty since it's a pre-existing condition.

The price of the window awning will depend on the make and model or size of the awning.

Call the window shade company about the replacement cost.


We never did extended warranties.

We have a GS extended service plan and it does what it says. No complaints so far and in the middle of the second claim. Window coverings are not covered whether pre-existing or not. Probably not by any extended service plan.

Technical point. They are extended service plans, not warranties.

No comments about an extended warranty company. For your blinds, call Tiffin and ask for the Parts Department. Have your VIN handy and they can send you the parts you need to do the repair.
