RV furniture in the Western area of U.S.

We knew when we purchased most any RV that we'd probably want to replace the couch and booth dinette and after living in it for 6 months we're ready to see what our options are.

For the couch we want to replace the 68" Jack knife with a reclining love seat that isn't too tall in the back (would cover the windows). For the dinette, we'd like an 18 inch deep credenza/storage also 68" long. We'd get a small free standing table with drop leaves that we can use as counter space in the kitchen or as a table for 4 with the leaves raised.

We don't know where to shop for things like this and make it look like it belongs. Not sure if we would/could do this ourselves.

Also, do custom RV furniture places take your old furniture and give you a credit? Ours is still relatively new. Since we're full time, I'm not sure how to store it to sell via Craig's list since we also move around a lot.

We welcome your experiences on this!

Thanks!

Interesting questions! I know that major RV dealers like C.W. always have a display of replacement furniture. Though they may not be the cheapest, you can start there to look at options. Other smaller RV repair houses also do it. I have not heard of anyone taking the old furniture or providing a credit.

Countryside RV Interiors - (541) 998-6541

Try these guys, they have great reviews locally. They might even take your old/new stuff on trade.

I cannot say what Countryside is like for buying furniture but be VERY careful. We had some new carpet and cabinetry work done by them and the list of problems was long and still a sore spot for us. Despite the many promises to make it right, they never did and frankly, I would not trust them to step into my coach again.

We were extremely happy with Davis Cabinets in "central" Oregon.
They made a complete computer desk in 3 days. Just next door was a furniture sales.

Don't buy "RV" furniture. It will cost much more than regular furniture and is certainly not any better. Check the regular stores, then check the size to be sure it will fit.

We really like that idea and think it will work for replacing the 68" couch with a reclining love seat (assuming we can get it through the door).

To replace the booth dinette, we'd like to get a free standing oval drop leaf table that we can move and use for more counter space for dinner prep with the leaves down and set up in the middle for meals. We're also looking for a 68"w x 18"d x 30" H cabinet to put in front of the televator TV where the booth currently is. Possibly with one file drawer.

The main concern in shopping for these plus two (folding?) chairs is making them seem like they belong! This is hard to envision colors since everything currently matches exactly (wood style, stain and finish). Having trouble picturing what could work and not look out of place!

We bought a leather reclining love seat from Foothills Furniture in Yuma. They sell a lot of stuff for RV's.

I took a look at their website and they appear to have some nice designs that I've not previouly seen.
