Consider a wider door. Your 14 foot is fine, but what a luxury and not that much more money to put in a 16 or 18. I have an 18 and can put in/take out an atv without moving the motorhome, for example.

All, a quick update to my garage size/engineering concerns.. Remember I was concerned about the slope of my driveway/pad going into the garage and what effect it would have on the motorhome getting into the 14x14 door and a 16' building ceiling clearance.

I picked up the motorhome from storage yesterday and drove it to the house (proposed garage slab). I tested and measured different points going up the 3 degree incline into the garage as it affected clearances. I found by stopping at different points the clearance at the Apex (see KanxKran's diagram/post on this thread) was good. I had about 6-7 inches of clearance under the motorhome. I also was measuring the rise of the back of the motorhome to the proposed ceiling of the garage to make sure I didn't hit the 14' panel garage door. My motorhome, on flat surfaces, measures 12'6" just like the specs said and the highest point that I measured coming up the incline and just before the tag wheels hit the level garage floor was 13'3". KanxKran was right on the money with his calculations - thanks..

So I think that I'm good as the garage door rails will sit at 14'5" with a 4" drop-down arm that connect the door to the electric opener.

All, again, thanks for all the help and responses.

Gdawgs, that is a nice looking garage you have for your motorhome. Did you purchase a kit, buy the material and build it yourself, or hire a contractor to build it for you?

I designed it my self using a programs (Home Designer). Building it myself with the help of a contractor. It will be a total of approx 3400 sqft with a RV garage, 2 car garage, workshop and lots of storage both in the attic and some floor rooms.
After testing my approach and driveway incline to the RV garage I opted to go with a 16wide x14high garage panel (residential garage look) door. I should be finished with the blacking in in about 2 weeks with Hardy board siding and sheetrock to follow.
